RP Rules « Thread Started on Feb 27, 2007, 9:00pm »
If you wish to RP on this site, here are a few wishes. (All rpers must fill out an application, or send me the required info in yahoo im or a pm here on the site. Thanks)
1. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT God Mode! I mentioned in the Welcome to Hogwarts thread that I despise that. I will not tolerate any of that. If you don't know what god modeing is, I'll tell you. God moding is when you make your character practically invincible. Nobody is invincible, even Voldemort and Dumbledore have weaknesses.
2. I do not mind foul language as long as you use it mildly. Put a warning at the beginning of the post please.
3. (New Rule!) Back by popular demand! J/k. Anyway, seeing as a majority have ruled, we will allow Slash relationships. Majority rules what can I say.
4. (New Rule!) Student teacher relationships are allowed, owing to the fact that the student is of age. However, be for-warned that if they are caught punishments will follow. I.E. student will be expelled, and the teacher will be fired.
5. No Mary sues. If the family member is not listed either in one of the books or on J.K. Rowling's site, do not make a character related to a Cannon chara. Example. Harry Potter is an only child. He has no brothers, no sisters. Nor does Draco Malfoy. It is however possible that Draco could have Malfoy or Black cousins, which are acceptable. Think of the family lines before creating relatives. The Weasley's however do have other relatives that are not mentioned in the book but are on Rowling's site. They are open game. Arthur for example is one of three brothers. If you want any other info on characters visit www.jkrowling.com and go to the extras link and click on characters or edits.
6. No one liners. Keep the one line talk to the general board, or the chat. One liners are works of laziness, and are annoying. So please no one liners. Three in a row will get you banned.
7. Keep explicit things in private. I.E. hide in a room where nobody goes regularly.
8. If you find a board that is password protected. Contact me, or the moderator for the password. These are set for a reason. However, the kitchen password is easily guessable. If you can guess it, you can enter. If not. Ask somebody who knows it. I will provide it to the characters that know how to get in there in the book. Same goes for the Room of Requirement.
9. Follow all rules, and we shall get along fine. You will receive up to, 2 warnings, the third will be exclusion. I'm not asking too much. (If anyone would like to do a Marauder's time RP, and I get enough requests I will create sub boards for that time period.)
10. This is the biggie. Please, spell check before posting, and please, please use proper grammar, and full sentences. I would greatly appreciate it and so would the fellow rpers. It makes it extremely difficult to understand things like that. There is a spell checker for a reason.
11. There is no limit to the amount of characters you play as long as you can keep up with them all, and create separate accounts for each one. If you submit an application, add 'I Solemly Swear I Am Up To No Good.' at the end with the same caps as I used, as proof that you read these rules. Thank you!

Note, I am very flexible about the rules, but one thing I do like to keep in tacked is canon. I don't like things that are writen in the books to be changed. Since the site was made before the 7th book came out we can easily change the year if anyone wants. Or keep it as is.
